ADMISSION: Free with Museum admission
Tattoo artist Dannyboy Smith shares stories and anecdotes from years of tattooing and provides insights into the exhibition, Lew the Jew and His Circle: Origins of American Tattoo.
Through mix mediums—including watercolor, screen-printing, and found objects—Dannyboy Smith's artwork captures the weird, odd, and fantastical elements of the human experience. Inspired by artists such as Jack Davis, Ed Roth, and Robert Crumb, Dannyboy's work explores the theme of man and machine, as well as perverse and fringe subcultures.
A respected Bay Area tattooist, Dannyboy's work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions around the Bay. He often tattoos abroad and at tattoo conventions across the country, and he truly honors the experience of collaborating with clients to create custom body art.
