Night at the Jewseum: Light, Analog Edition

The party for the after-work crowd celebrates analog-Hanukkah! Delight in lo-fi charms from a pre-digital life.

  • Nosh at the Latke Bar by La Cocina's Blake Kutner and sip specialty cocktails & mocktails by Tonic Beverage Catering
  • Sound and light chamber with visuals from Mad Alchemy and Sound Bath with Gabrielle Ekedal
  • Musical entertainment by wandering troubadours 
  • Chlo & Co Dance perform amidst Folktales
  • Take a digital break with a Reboot Cell Phone Sleeping Bag and find clues to a restful and meaningful Shabbat in Reboot's "Unplugged Scavenger Hunt"
  • Discover Haptic Encounters at a special 5pm tour 
  • DJ Mick Flaire spins vinyl, old-school style
  • Chronicle Books rolls out Books on Bikes
  • Get busy with typewriters, dreidel light table, cassette tape crafts, and other activities throughout the evening

Night at the Jewseum: Power!  • Dec 10, 2015

A Hanukkah party for the after-work crowd that explored the connection between the exhibition Chasing Justice, the Maccabees, Jewish radical traditions, and DIY crafts, cocktails, gallery chats, and performances, hosted by The CJM Contemporaries’ Andrew Rosenthal and David Saxe. The evening also included:

  • Latke Bar by La Cocina's Executive Director Caleb Zigas and specialty cocktails by Tonic Beverage Catering.
  • Storytelling with Reboot’s Rebar speakers Jared BlumenfeldRabbi David KasherJacob Kornbluth, and Tiffany Shlain.
  • Music with Bay Area locals Electronic Death Registry (EDR) and beats by DJ Fact.50.
  • Gallery Chat with graffiti artist Hugh Leeman and gallery games in Chasing Justice
  • Curated selection of comics from Mission: Comics & Art pop-up.
  • Menorah lighting with Rabbi Langer from Chabad of SF & Bill Graham Menorah Project.
  • Photobooth for social justice with Jewish community partners Keshet International and the American Jewish World Service (AJWS) #MyLifeAt15 Photobooth.
