About the Resource

This resource is designed to help students gain awareness of environmental justice in the Bay Area and make a map representing their personal connections to where they live, utilizing artist Connie Zheng's expansive map Land of Opportunity. Included in the guide are a high-resolution image of the map, discussion prompts, and a mapmaking activity, with templates provided. Topics covered include repairing historical harm, environmental justice, and local mapping/geography.
