Applications for Fall 2024 are now closed
ADMISSION: Free for teens
The CJM's Teen Art Connect (TAC) Anti-bias Leaders Fellowship is a nine-month long program open to Bay Area high school students that seeks to empower teens with the training and tools to use art in anti-bias learning and activism. Fellows will meet monthly to work alongside artists, educators, and changemakers to build knowledge and leadership skills and develop art-based anti-bias projects. The fellowship includes a $1,000 stipend upon completion of the program and is open to Bay Area teens from all backgrounds who are currently in 9th, 10th, and 11th grades. We value diversity, including diversity in culture, race and ethnicity, and gender expression.
Applications for Fall 2024 are now closed. Check back in spring 2025 to learn about next year's TAC Anti-bias Leaders Fellowship.
This fellowship is open to Bay Area high school students currently in 9th, 10th, and 11th grades. We are seeking enthusiastic students who are interested in learning more about how advocacy, anti-bias education, and art can enable youth to fight discrimination in their communities and beyond. Teens from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply!
Fellows will reflect on and share their identity stories, explore artists whose work promotes social justice, and learn from leaders and changemakers to better understand their roles and abilities in affecting change in their community. In the spring, Fellows will participate in the “Teens Leading Change” program, which will be open to all San Francisco Bay Area high school students, teachers, and parents.
The fellowship will meet once a month from September to May for a two-hour meeting. Fellows will be expected to complete short tasks between sessions, and to create a project to present at the in-person "Teens Leading Change" public program in spring. Some additional sessions may occur.
Sessions will be a mix of virtual and in-person. Meetings will be held once a month on Sundays from September to May.
All Fellows will be awarded a stipend of $1,000 upon completion of the program.
