ADMISSION: Free and open to all CJM Members and Golden Gate Orchestra and Chorus (GGSOC) Members with advance registration
This live multimedia concert pays tribute to the talent and resilience of Jewish composers who continued to create music while imprisoned during the Holocaust. During the 45-minute performance, you’ll hear the music of highly accomplished composers, such as Hans Krása, Ilse Weber, and Hirsch Glick, who perished in Nazi concentration camps. Presented and created in partnership with Citizen Film, Golden Gate Orchestra and Chorus, and Holocaust Music Lost and Found, this concert is an extension of The CJM’s Holocaust, Art, and Resistance Day of Learning, a program offered for free to Bay Area school groups. Students will also attend the program.
We invite you to join us to hear the stories of these composers, gain an inside look at this critical Holocaust educational program, and see firsthand how your support of The CJM positively impacts our Bay Area youth community. After the performance, mingle with the musicians over coffee and bagels.
