Sunday Stories: The Jewish Chicken Ranchers of Petaluma

During the first half of the twentieth century, Jewish immigrants from the shtetls of Eastern Europe and Russia came to Petaluma, California to raise chickens. While their reasons for immigrating were diverse, they came together to form a vibrant, politically progressive Jewish community steeped in socialist ideals. In this installment of Sunday Stories, journey back to the days of the Jewish utopian chicken farmers of Northern California.
