Mel Gordon is Professor of Theatre Arts at the University of California, Berkeley. A director and writer, he is the author of thirteen books and one hundred and thirty articles on popular culture and American, French, German, Italian, Russian, and Yiddish theatre, including two short pieces on Weimar Berlin in Cabinet bagazine and Harpers Monthly.
