Our Roots

Feb 26, 2015–May 24, 2015

The Contemporary Jewish Museum (The CJM) and Galicia Jewish Museum, Kraków, present Our Roots, an international youth video project. These video portraits were created by The CJM’s Teen Art Connect interns and youth from Poland in conjunction with the exhibitions Letters to Afar and Poland and Palestine: Two Lands and Two Skies.

about the project

These select films were created by The Contemporary Jewish Museum’s Teen Art Connect interns, a diverse group of Bay Area high school students, and youth from Poland participating in the Our Roots project. The filmmakers focused on a particular aspect of their families’ stories to answer broader questions about their own roots. The collaborative process revealed commonality and differences allowing the teens to learn about their peers and gain a deeper understanding of themselves.
