Celebrate the Tu B’Shevat, the Jewish Birthday of the Trees, by creating a forest of painted, clay, and stamped trees.

Roots and Connections

Add threads to the Collaborative Family Journeys Globes, Illuminate your Family Tree, and create Letters to Loved Ones at the typewriter station.

The Calming Corner

Relax, read, or play in a quiet and less-crowded space.

Play with our roving gallery guide and a collection of games, materials, and hands-on activities.

Alison Faith Levy and the Big Time Tot Rock Band

Move, groove, and enjoy songs about trees from this favorite local band.

Storytelling with Michael Katz

Join Michael Katz for Tu B’Shevat and other stories told in his highly energetic, animated, and interactive style.

Michael Katz

Michael Katz has been a storyteller since 1984 and has been featured at such illustrious locations as the openings of both the Los Angeles Getty Center and the Disney Concert Hall. Michael is the host of the radio storytelling program Katz Pajamas heard on NPR station KCBX FM. He is one of the founding members of the national touring theatre company BOXTALES, and was the founding Artistic Director for the Flying Leap Storytelling Festival in Solvang, California.

Alison Faith Levy has toured the country and has released two solo albums for children and families. She is currently working on her third album.
