Join The CJM for Songs of Truth: a live concert and multimedia storytelling tribute to the talent and resilience of Jewish composers who created music while imprisoned during the Holocaust. During this program, we will connect through music to commemorate Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day), to honor lives lost, and to ensure that the lessons of history are never forgotten.

Songs of Truth powerfully interweaves musical performance, archival media, and live narration to spotlight six Jewish composers who continued to create music while imprisoned by the Nazis. These six voices of defiance, hope, and humanity, and their stories offer lessons for fighting hate that still resonate today. A joint program of Citizen Film, The Contemporary Jewish Museum, and Golden Gate Symphony, this concert offers the public a rare opportunity to witness the antisemitism education work we conduct in middle and high schools* around Bay Area. For this presentation, student musicians will perform some songs alongside professional musicians.
